By utilizing Taiwan's unique natural resources and remarkable technological skills, Kavalan aimed to be the first whisky distillery in the country. If water is essential to whisky production, it follows that the character of the water used can have a considerable influence on the profile of the spirit. The founder of the Kavalan distillery has spent years searching for the perfect site with the ideal water supply. Effort goes into every drop of new spirit and every seasoned cask they choose. Coupled with the mastery of the blender, they ensure the silky smoothness and distinctive flavors of Kavalan whisky.

Vinho is fully matured in used American oak wine barrels that have been toasted and recharred in a way that brings out fruity vanilla notes from the whisky and wood overlaid on a delicate background of complex fruitiness.
The casks have (deliberately) been used to mature both red and white wines which eventually will contribute the background complex fruitiness to Kavalan Solist Vinhos. It is complex and multi dimensional background of pepper, spice, dates and other fruits, such as ripe melon and mango together with kiwi and a delicate blend of citrus fruits burst.
