This year, Barton Distillery's limited release 1792 Full Proof Bourbon took the crown of "World Whiskey of the Year". Owned by Sazerac, Barton is one of the oldest fully operating distilleries in Kentucky, dating back to 1879. Since it's initial introduction to the market in 2016, 1792 Full Proof has won numerous awards across the world's biggest tasting competitions. Previous winners of Jim Murray's "World Whiskey of the Year" include Booker's Limited Edition 13-Year Rye, E.H.
